JANUARY 2008 NEWSLETTER

I hope the holidays were enjoyable for everyone! Now that we are back to scouts, there is much to complete.

The next 2 months will be so much fun, and a lot of work too. Many achievements will be completed so attendance is needed.
**POCKETKNIFE ALERT** On Jan. 17 will be one of the days the boys have been waiting for -- Pocketknife work. Each scout will need to bring his own knife and I would like to have as many adults as possible to help. We will discussing responsibilities beforehand and will not hesitate to take the knives away if the scout is not behaving properly. We encourage parents to talk with their scout about the uses and misuses of pocketknives.
Our pack meeting is on Jan. 31. We will be doing magic tricks for an audience. If your son has a favorite trick, have him bring it on Jan 10 to teach the den. As always families are welcome.

PINEWOOD DERBY DAY will be Saturday, Feb 2, beginning at 2:00 pm. Each boy will receive a kit to make his car. There will be adult races also. Extra kits are available at Breedlove’s.
Scout Sunday is February 3. Please discuss Achievement 1 a & b with your scout.

On February 21, I would like to complete a special 100 year of scouting activity. The activity and patch is $4.00 per scout. Please have this to me by the beginning of February. If you have any questions, please contact me.

As always, feel free to complete anything in your handbook at home. Just let me know what is completed.
